Auto Injury Insurance Claims, Introduction
Unfortunately, auto injuries are something many people have experienced in their life. Sadly, too, many people can testify to how hard their pocketbook gets hit when a car accident results in injury. The Insurance Research Council recently published an updated study of nationwide trends in treatment, cost and compensation for victims of auto injuries. This IRC study is the seventh since 1977, and looks at 35,779 claims—all of which closed with payment—from 2007 to 2012. Over the next month, beginning today, we’ll be publishing four mini-reports on this IRC study in a quick-read blog format. Please revisit our site during the next few weeks and look for the following topics:
- The Trend of Auto Accident Cost Increase
- A Dropping Reimbursement Ratio, Part I: Higher Charges, Lower Payments
- The Rising Need for Attorney Involvement
